NSM Alum, CEO Praised for Tech Business Success

Rose Wang, a UH computer science graduate and technology company executive, was honored for her business leadership by a professional women’s group earlier this year.

Wang received the Women in Technology’s (WIT) 2007 Entrepreneur Award at the organization’s annual gala in May. WIT, a networking group for women in the Washington, D.C.– area technology industry, recognized Wang for her success as an executive, mentor and role model.

She is president and CEO of Binary Group Inc., a Bethesda, Md., firm that provides strategic advice on information technology to federal agencies, including several within the Department of Defense. Last year the company boasted revenues of $20 million.

Wang grew up in China and earned a master’s degree in computer science from UH. She worked for a software company in Houston before moving to the Washington area to start her own company in 2000.
