KUHF Highlights UH’s Mathematician’s Heart Research

A new research initiative at the University of Houston applying advanced mathematics to biomedical science was featured on Houston’s public radio station, KUHF.

In the latest installment of KUHF’s regular UH Moment series, Suncica Canic – Cullen Distinguished Professor of Mathematics – discusses her work using mathematical models to improve artery stents in collaboration with the Texas Heart Institute.

Canic is director of the Center for Mathematics Biosciences, which bridges the fields of math and biology and includes more than a dozen bioscience mathematicians at UH as well as collaborators at Rice University and the Texas Medical Center.
