Outstanding UH Geology Students Earn Scholarships From British American Foundation
Five University of Houston geology students were among the recipients of the first scholarships given by the British American Foundation of Texas.

Joe Larson, Elysse Greenberg, Tim Brown, Denet Pernia and Omar Zaman each received a $5,000 scholarship this year from the foundation.

Established by the British American Business Council, the foundation provides financial assistance to academically gifted high school, undergraduate and post-graduate students. The foundation also works to strengthen cultural and educational ties between the U.S. and the United Kingdom.

The awards are the first of the foundation’s annual scholarship program for outstanding geology undergrads. To be eligible students must have completed at least 24 hours at UH and have earned a 3.5 GPA or above.
