Friends of NSM Lecture Series Wraps Up

Science in Energy Featured Topic for 2013

The 2012 Friends of NSM lecture series, “Science Impacting Health and Society,” held its final lecture in late November. Over the course of the year, each of the evening lectures drew a crowd of 150 to 175 guests.

“It was wonderful to have such enthusiastic support in our first year of the lecture series,” said Mark Smith, NSM dean. “We had an excellent mix of alumni, donors, students from UH, Rice and the medical schools, TMC physicians and scientists, and the general public coming on campus for the events.”

In 2013, the series will focus on science and energy with a panel format that will foster lively debate on topics such as fracking and climate change. Details on the 2013 Friends of NSM Science and Society Series will be available in February at www.friends.nsm.uh.edu.
