Page Engages Students and Shares NSM News

Just in time for the fall semester, NSM entered the world of social media with the launch of a page on the popular website, Facebook. The page will keep NSM students, alumni and friends connected with the University of Houston and NSM through posts on activities, news and event photos.

Since Facebook is used by a high percentage of college students, it is an excellent, low-cost approach for reaching current and potential students with key information, including scholarship deadlines and undergraduate research opportunities.

“Creating a stronger bond between NSM and our students is a critical step for student engagement,” said Kialyn Yendell, NSM’s director of student success. “By reaching out to our students through a medium they use on a daily basis, we can seize the opportunity to show them they are truly the heart and soul of this College. We want to support their academic endeavors and help them succeed.”
