University of Houston President Renu Khator visited with faculty and students from the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics earlier this month to talk about the college’s strengths and long-term aspirations.

Since assuming the presidency in January, Khator has been busy meeting with UH students, alumni, faculty, staff and community members and listening to their thoughts for building the university’s future.

On Feb. 8 Khator’s introductory tour brought her to NSM, where she met with Dean John Bear and his leadership team. After the meeting Khator chatted with NSM students – including leaders of NSM student organizations – and faculty and staff at a reception.

Khator also got a peek at some of the college’s cutting-edge research and state-of-the-art facilities. She toured graduate and undergraduate chemistry labs and an undergraduate genetics lab.

After Khator’s first 100 days in office, she will analyze the suggestions and input she has collected and will outline her vision for the future and present her strategies and priorities.

The UH community – including alumni – are encouraged to visit http://www.uh.edu/about/offices/president/100-days and share their thoughts and ideas with the new president.
