How Does Movie Night Work?
Each month, NSM features a science-based movie. Details are posted to our Movie Night webpage and NSM Facebook. Selected movies will be available on popular digital platforms like Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, Netflix, or Hulu. On movie night, everyone watches the movie on their own.

Tune in via Zoom for an introduction and Q&A from NSM’s Dr. Mariam Manuel, Instructional Assistant Professor/Master Teacher for teachHOUSTON, a secondary STEM teacher preparation program in NSM’s Department of Mathematics. Dr. Manuel will provide some key things to look out for during the movie, so stay on alert!
7–9:10 pm
Watch the movie on your own. You can rent the movie starting at $3.99 via OnDemand, Amazon Prime Video, iTunes or YouTube.
9:15–10 pm
Check back in with Dr. Manuel on Zoom for a Q&A session about the science in the movie.
You’ll receive the Zoom link and information on accessing the movie via email two days before the event.
