Distinguished Physician Addresses NSM Dinner

Dr. Louis Green, a prominent surgeon and UH alum, delivered the keynote address at the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics annual dinner in April honoring its summa cum laude graduates, faculty award winners, and donors.

Green graduated from UH in 1943 with a degree in biology and a medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. During a 32-year career he was affiliated with Baylor, where he served as clinical professor of surgery, and Methodist Hospital. He was also chief of surgery at Ellington Air Force base.

He is past president of the UH Alumni Organization and was named a distinguished alumnus in 1989. In 2005 Green delivered the NSM graduation commencement address.
